Advent Reflection #2

Key Verse Luke 1:13. “The angel said to him: ‘Do not be afraid, Zechariah; your prayer has been heard.'”

Fear is such a debilitating and paralyzing emotion. We are afraid of failure, and rejection. We pause, hesitate and retreat. Visions become blurred. Caution prevails. We want to make sure, so very sure before we move ahead.

What is your greatest fear?

“Do not be afraid,” the angel said to Zechariah. Do not fear! What comforting and challenging words. Words of blessing and grace. Words we need in our stress filled and fearful lives.

For what are you praying?

Happy are those who dream God inspired dreams and are willing to pay the price to see them come true!

The God of Zechariah was the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; and the father of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

It is this God who promises throughout scripture that He will never leave us nor forsake us”

It this God who provides a peace that “passes understanding.” Shalom!

We can choose to believe that this God hears our prays and will answer “in His time.” When confidence in God prevails, fear falters.

Read Luke 1:11-17
